Holy Redeemer/Devereaux Cemeteries

17th Sideroad, just west of Trafalgar Road, Halton Hills
Esquesing Township

History: Holy Redeemer opened in June 2012 on 17th Side Road (just west of Trafalgar) to serve the growing Catholic community in Halton Hills and surrounding area. It features a statue of Jesus, the Holy Redeemer. Single, family and cremation lots are available and St. Kateri Tekakwitha columbarium offers above-ground burial of cremation urns. In 2014, St. Alojzije Stepinac Section was opened for parishioners of the Queen of Peace Croatian Franciscan Centre in Norval. This section features single or family lots as well as above-ground private estate lawn crypts.

Devereaux public cemetery is located adjacent to Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery and opened in October 2013. Both are owned and operated by The Catholic Cemeteries of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, in an innovative arrangement with the Town of Halton Hills.

Out of the 42-acre Catholic cemetery, 10 acres are set aside for public use as the Devereaux Cemetery.

The cemetery is named in honour of the Devereaux family, the original owners of the property, who farmed there for several generations. The former farmhouse is now the cemetery office.
