Bradt Family Farm

Bradt Family Farm Cemetery

Location:
5511 Guelph Line, RR #2, Milton, Halton Region, Ontario, Canada.
Concession 4, Lot 4, Nelson Township.

History:
In 1832, Concession 4 NS, Lot 4, was granted by the Crown to George Coleman. He sold the lot to Albert Bradt in 1832. The house was built by Bradt circa 1850. In 1877, according to the Halton Illustrated Atlas, the property was owned by Andrew Bradt, but this is probably an error as Albert Bradt was still alive and living there at this time. In 1923, the west half except for 4 acres was sold to William Howell Powell. It is still owned by the Powell family.

The Bradt Family Farm Cemetery is located on the farm at 5511 Guelph Line. The pioneer cemetery, with nine burials dating from 1856 to 1921, measures 14 ft.. 2 in. by 27 ft. 7 in. No. 4 marker is fairly new, and as near as can be ascertained (1970) was erected by GEO. (DORIS) BRADT, a grandson of DANIEL BRADT.

The cemetery has been kept in very good repair and recently a new stone was erected with all the burials recorded.
