History:
Devereaux Public Cemetery opened in October 2013.
This cemetery is located adjacent to Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, and both are owned and operated by The Catholic Cemeteries of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, in an innovative arrangement with the Town of Halton Hills.
Out of the 42-acre Catholic cemetery, 10 acres are set aside for public use as the Devereaux Cemetery.
The cemetery is named in honour of the Devereaux family, the original owners of the property, who farmed there for several generations. The former farmhouse is now the cemetery office.
